Selous Game Reserve
Located in the south of Tanzania, spreading over an area of 55,000 km2, Selous is the largest natural reserve in Tanzania. Its name is so called after Frederick Courteney Selous, the legendary hunter and explorer who fell to his death, during battle in the 1st World War in 1917 (Selous was the battle scene between the English and Germans).
Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest game reserve and one of the favorite game viewing areas in Africa. Covering 50,000 square kilometers is amongst the largest protected areas in Africa and is relatively undisturbed by human impact
